How do I find a participating CIGNA Plan dentist or specialist in my area?

To obtain a list of dental offices for primary care dentists near you, visit the CIGNA Web site and search the provider directory for managed care dental HMO. You may also obtain a current dental office directory by calling member services at 1-800-367-1037. For names of participating specialists, please contact your primary care dentist or member services.

Do I need to file dental claims under CIGNA?

There are no claim forms to be filed. The general dentist or specialist will file any necessary paperwork.

What if I need emergency dental services?

If you are inside the plan service area, contact your selected plan dentist to arrange for emergency services. If your plan dentist is unavailable, you may use emergency services from a licensed dentist. Notify CIGNA or your dentist of your condition and services received within 48 hours of emergency.

Should I get pre-determination of benefits?

Yes, your participating dentist will obtain authorization for any major dental work before the work begins.

How do I get additional dental plan identification cards?

You may request an additional ID card at www.cigna.com. You may also contact Member Services at 1-800-367-1037.
